Committees
Clinical Opportunities Committee
The SHC Clinical Opportunities Committee works to organize a variety of opportunities for pre-health students. In the 2020 - 2021 year, they developed and coordinated the COVID-19 Opportunities Notion page, helped develop the Emory Winship Virtual Volunteering Program, and created the How to Get Involved Video Series. For the 2022 year, they will continue to organize additional opportunities in various pre-health fields including volunteering and clinical experience.
Events Planning Committee
The SHC Events Planning Committee is responsible for all of the organization’s event and activity planning initiatives. Their goal is to alleviate the workload stresses placed on our members by hosting events and activities that allow them to sit back and relax. Socials help members get to know one another, while panels provide valuable information for pre-health students including healthcare issues, work-life balance, and self-care tips or suggestions. EPC also increases member engagement by planning fun activities such as game night and various social events! These events can be either virtual, hybrid, or in-person.
Fundraising Committee
The SHC Fundraising Committee is in charge of all things related to fundraisers. They work to come up with and smoothly run new and productive fundraising events with various local businesses and organizations. The money raised goes towards helping SHC members with their transportation fees, funding service projects hosted by SHC, or supporting other local Atlanta community service organizations.

Outreach Team
Originally developed to assist with the expansion and maintenance of the Good Samaritan Helpline SOS COVID-19 Helpline, the SHC Outreach team works to facilitate highly productive volunteering events, service projects, and expand SHC as an integral part of Georgia Tech’s pre-health community. They have began various initiatives such as Walk with a Doc on Georgia Tech's campus and also SEE Learning in collaboration with Emory to further the study of emotional learning.
Senior Support Team
The SHC Senior Support Team seeks to provide emotional support to senior residents. It was founded in the summer of 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to help the residents through the trying times during which visitors were not allowed in the homes. This was achieved by exchanging letters, phone calls, and video calls with them! They are currently hoping to continue to give their support to homes closer to Atlanta by sending volunteers there in person.
How can i join an shc committee, team or Chair?
At the start of each Fall semester, the SHC Executive Board will release a committee/team application for all committees! All SHC members are welcome to apply through the application and can apply for more than one committee/team. Even if you apply for more than one committee/team, please note that you will only be selected to serve on one committee/team.
